About Me

Hello and Welcome to 5th Grade!  I am so excited to begin our year together.  I will be spending a great deal of time getting to know your students but I’m sure that you’re wondering who I am and why I’m here as well!

My name is Sherri Ball.  I am a lifetime resident of Thornton, Colorado.  I graduated from Horizon High School and went on to earn my B.A. and Elementary Teaching License from Metropolitan State University.  I then began teaching 5th grade in Adams 12.  During my first years of teaching, I went on to earn my M.A. in Literacy, Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Colorado at Boulder.  I taught 5th grade in Adams 12 for 8 years.  I then took a few years off to stay home and be with my 3 young children.  While I thoroughly enjoyed my time at home, I had always felt a yearning to get back into the classroom.  I was then approached by a principal in the Mapleton Public School System to come back and join them for a part-time position.  I was very excited to be able to still have precious time at home with my growing children but also get back into the classroom.  I taught 3rd grade part time for 2 years when I decided to come to Brantner.

I chose Brantner because my own children have gone here for 3 years now.  They have had wonderful teachers, rich learning experiences and a lot of fun!  I now have the best of both worlds.  I get to teach at my neighborhood school while working in 5th grade, which LOVE!  I am happy to be a Brantner Bengal and I assure you that I am here to work alongside you to make this year a fun, memorable, exciting year full of success and achievement.
